Another challenge! Wow, the week has gone by fast! Thank you all who participated in the last challenge 'Flowers'. What a beautiful bunch of creations you have entered!
Anna, our talented DTM, has chosen a lovely theme - Hot Summer &/or hot colours. Very fitting for July and our sunny UK right now!
The challenge is sponsored by...
and the prize is...
As you have noticed I went wild with the latter - hot colours! I fancied making something different than a card too so found a greyboard in my stash and adhered some tissue paper to it using my gel medium. I used my white gesso to cover the whole piece and used Distress Inks to add colour (Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade & Barn Door) and heat embossed the whole piece whilst the inks were still wet. I made a few stencils out of some acetate sheet the other day and decided to use one of them on this piece. This is just a free-handed whimsical flower. As my whole background was now covered in plastic due to the clear embossing and acrylics don't stick to plastic I decided to use my black Stazon to sponge the design onto my piece. I also used it with my Tim Holtz stamps to stamp over it here and there. The sentiment was stamped on a piece of an acetate sheet, cut out, edges sponged and added to my base using black brads. I wanted to create loads of texture, but not so much dimension. I think it worked! This is a really fun futuristic plastic fantastic piece and I had great fun making it! I hope you like it and get inspired to try something different and eccentric and explore new techniques!
Whatever you decide to create for the challenge just make sure you follow the rules and don't forget to visit our sponsor's and our DT's gorgeous blogs and leave them some love! Most of all... don't forget to have FUN!
I'm entering this piece into the Country View Challenges - Stencil It! and hope they like it ;) I promise, this is the last one :)
Thank you for stopping by! Bye for now!
