Playing with white...and some...

Hello and Happy 4th July to my US friends, family and blogging buddies! I hope you are all having a great day celebrating!

The sun is shining, the bouncy castle is up, my dear children are happy, the glass of Cabernet Sauvignon is smiling at me, my friend is coming to join me... life is good! Well, it is now... it was a different story earlier on, I had a specialist Dr appointment this morning and was sent to a wrong place so totally missed it. I waited for it since the beginning of June and now I have to wait another week! I wish people communicated more. Life would be much better in general.

Another great thing is that the Simon Says Stamp Monday Blog has a new challenge and I made a little something for it! 'W is for White'  it is! And what a fun I had! You know when you get an idea about a creation in your head and it doesn't leave you until you actually create it. Well, this was the case. I've had this vision in my mind for some time I just never got to doing anything about it. There's always an element of surprise when an artwork is finished as it is perhaps different to what you have imagined. But isn't it what it's all about? About the play? About letting your imagination flow and your hands doing the job? I wasn't after perfection, I just wanted to play and a result of that is my dimensional art journal page/artwork using mainly white Gesso, some paper for my handmade flowers and the collage, the cotton wool mixed with gesso for dimension, my Calypso Teal Dylusions spray, a soft pencil for sketching my girl and shading, my black Stazon, a piece of a vellum, a piece of a doily, stencils, Stampendous and Prima stamps, dies, my WOW! white embossing powder, the silver Glitter Frosting Paste by GlitzCraft and a few embellishments. I love using a cotton wool with gesso.. you might remember when I made the three canvases using exactly that. If not, you can check them out HERE.

Here are some photos...

Thank you for stopping by! Have a great weekend!
