Featured by Marjie Kemper

I have a very special post for you today!

I've known about the lovely Marjie Kemper for some time, but me being a newbie I didn't realise how much this talented artist and a teacher has to offer. It was a few weeks ago when I actually left a comment on her website and found myself in awe when an email from Marjie arrived asking if she could feature my 'Dragonfly' artwork on her fantastic series called 'Tuesday's Texture'! I cannot tell you how honoured I am today to be featured on her website. Thank you, Marjie, it means a lot!

Special post! Crafty Catz Challenge & Birthdays!

Good morning, lovely people! :)

Today is a good day! Sod the broken washer-dryer and sod the rainy weather...today is a good day! Exactly one year ago I got to hold the most precious bundle, my gorgeous little baby girl Chloe' for the first time in my arms! I remember sitting on my hospital bed, holding her and just looking at her promising her the world and not wanting to let go. What a special time it was and today we celebrate that special moment! In one year she has shown me what loving someone really mean and made me smile even when I didn't feel like it. She's grown from the helpless little soul in my arms into a clever, funny, cheeky, beautiful and loving little person. I am so grateful for every hug and giggle and for her being here with us, in our little family. Her big sister Isabella has been a darling and has been a great supporter of her little sibling. I'm so proud of them both!

I'd like to say a big thank you to my friends Donna and Aunty Sue who thought of her today and made stunning cards for Chloe'...

How gorgeous are they!! Thank you very much, Ladies, it touched my heart and these cards will be treasured so one day when she can read she can be reminded of her special day and that you were a part of it. xxx

It is a lovely coincidence that the Crafty Catz Challenge Blog is also celebrating a 5 year anniversary!!! Yay! Happy Anniversary, Crafty Catz! There's birthday all around! So join in and celebrate with us! Make a birthday card for our 'Birthdays' themed challenge!

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you will enjoy today's post! Big warm hugs to the new blog buddies, it's so great to have such talented souls close by! Thanks for joining me here!

A fly-by post today as I am in the middle of cooking and looking after two menacing hungry birdies. :)
I have a vintage Christmas card for you today! I made this card a while back, but had to wait to show it to you in case it got picked to be featured in a magazine. I haven't heard back so I guess they didn't like my grungy vintage Christmas card enough :) Well, I hope you will...

Whimsical flower card - brusho bleaching technique...

I can't believe it is already Thursday! Where does the time go?! I've had a busy few days as I have been working on a project that I can't publish. Doesn't it suck? i know... I really want to show you my altered birdhouse as I think it is a real cutie, but it's going to have to wait... I do however have a card to show you today so that's good, right? Before I go ahead and start rambling about how it was made I'd like to welcome my fabulous new blog buddies! What a gorgeous and talented bunch you are! I feel blessed to have you close by and will be exploring your blogs asap! Thank you for joining me on my crafty journey!

Today's card is quite special! It is not what I made, but who for... I recently sent a few crafty items to my dear crafty friend Donna and included this card. She just received it so I can show you now...

Mixed media card with Brusho

Just a quick post as I have two hungry birdies to feed soon :)

I'd like to welcome my new blog buddies, it's so nice to have you here! Thank you for joining me on my creative ride :)

I have just seen this fabulous sketch on the STAMPlorations website and just couldn't resist making a big mess. This was supposed to be a CAS card, but somehow I got carried away and just couldn't stop playing once I've seen my orange toned messy brusho background (used - lemon, orange, scarlet, brilliant red). I dried and left it.

Butterfly card with brusho & something special...

Today is a special day for me as today is all about my family. Not only that today was my due date last year (yes, my little one will be 1 this month! No, she did not make an appearance on that day...), but also today would have been my dear angel Grandma's birthday so I will be lighting a candle in her memory today. I miss her dearly, she was an angel on earth and now is an angel in Heavens.
I would also like to mention one more, very important person in my life and that is my dear Mum! And as we are having such a nice round up here I'd like to show you how beautifully talented my Mummy is. She loves crafting with Pergamano and makes the most amazing projects. From cards, to envelopes and tiny gift boxes... they are just amazing. Yesterday she sent me a bunch of photos taken with her phone and I asked if I could share them. The photos are not great but they will give you a good idea of what she does... so here they are, the tiny gift boxes she just made...

Crafty Catz Challenge: 'CAS'

Hi there!

I hope you are all well?

I hope you enjoyed the last weeks challenge, we had some wonderful entries! Some tough decisions were made to pic our favourites!

I have the pleasure to announce a new challenge here on my little blog too. Our sweet Jac would like to see CAS (clean and simple) projects. I say 'projects' because from what I know you can easily make a clean and simple tag too, not just a card. This should give you a bit more freedom, right? Good! Now let's see who this week's generous sponsors are...

Speed Craft Challenge #2: Colour Themed

The crafty quintet is back with the Speed Craft Challenge #2! When I say quintet I mean 5 (including myself) crafty ladies who have hooked up together for a bit of fun. The Ladies I mention are...

Donna - Inky & Quirky
Keren Baker - Kerenbaker's Blog
Nikki Acton - A2A - Addicted to Art
Pamellia Johnson - My Little Craft Things

If you have missed our first Speed Craft Challenge then click HERE for more info...

We all thought it would be quite fun to have themed challenges as we go on and this time it was me who picked one. My favourite colour is turquoise... or at least one of my favourites... and I have found this gorgeous image inspiration on Fresh Hues website:

Hello Autumn!

I AM BACK! :) We got back from our 'glamping' week long trip this weekend shattered with a need of another holiday! If I ever have another 'bright' idea as to go camping in a pod with two babies please remind me that they do not stay in one place, get wet from rolling down the hill first thing in the morning after you just changed them, constantly want to explore everything, will try to eat stones from your front path and you will be chasing the seagulls away from making noise up on your pod roof at 5am in the morning after not a wink of sleep then falling into the pile of bags face down when attempting to remove your wellies... making an awful noise! All in all, it was fun! It was also lovely to visit Ma and spend some valuable time with her by the seaside and celebrate her birthday with her.

I'm sorry I haven't been in touch with any of you during my time away. I didn't have any reception on my mobile and had no internet connection. It's nice to be back but I have a lot to do so please bare with me. Thank you for all of your comments, I have read them all and will be in touch soon! xxx

I have also finally managed to put up my new 'Pinworthy' Badge that I received from the lovely and very talented Design Team at the 'A Vintage Journey' challenge blog for my 'Altered Rustic Jar' in the 'Time Flies' challenge. I can't tell you how grateful and proud I am to have received this! THANK YOU!!

Before I left I wrote a post about my 'Crinkle Transfer' technique. Did you get to try it? What I didn't get to show you was my autumnal card I made using the papers I made using this technique. So, here I am today with my mixed media autumnal card....

Crafty Catz Challenge: One for the boys

I'm currently away glamping in Devon, UK so this is a scheduled post! I'm typing this with crossed inky fingers that the schedule function works...

The Crafty Catz are back after a short well deserved break with a new challenge! Our wonderful Christine would like to see masculine cards and projects, hence the name 'One for the boys'.

But before I show you my card I'd like to tell you who the sponsor of this week's challenge is and what you might win, if you are lucky! If you don't win there's always a TOP 3 for our favourite contenders.

Photo Pocket

Just a very quick scheduled post for you today! I am currently away, but made this fun little project before I left.

We don't get to see our girls' Ma often as she lives far from us so I ordered some photos of our little girls to take with us for when we go to see her during our trip. The photos arrived in a pocket which I have traced onto a white cardstock, cut out and scored....

... colorised it with Dylusions...

...added a bit of 'ghoasting' using my Moroccan embossing folder by Sizzix and did some stamping using the Teresa Collins 'Everyday Moments' stamp set. I also mixed a bit of my Liquitex light modeling paste with my Dylusions sprays and applied this mixture through my TCM script stencil. The flowers were stamped onto a sprayed cardstock, twice for each flower, as I cut out just a portion of the second one and glued them together for a bit of a dimension. I didn't want to use any bulky embellishments as this will most likely be stored in a drawer. I also added a blue silk ribbon so this pocket can be securely closed. This pocket fits 5 x 7" photos or any smaller ones, of course...

I hope you like it! Well, I just hope Ma likes it :/ Feel free to leave a comment or two as there is a chance I might be able to read it now and I will definitely read them upon my return. Thank you for stopping by!

Have a great day!
